ART RIGGS ROLFING® AND BODYWORK

A Dawn Of New Body Awareness

Welcome

Deciding upon a Rolfer® can be a challenging decision

There are two basic decisions to be made:

(1.) Is Rolfing for you

(2.) If so, who would be the most appropriate Rolfer for you

The Rolfing process is not a scripted routine, and there are considerable variations in how techniques, philosophies, and personality come together between each practitioner and the individual needs of clients. Rolfing is not a bodywork where the client passively lies on the table; it involves a frequent dialogue of active participation on both sides that requires a close and trusting relationship

The question is not who is the best Rolfer, but who is best suited to your needs.  I hope this website may clarify some of these questions.

After over 80 years of practice and refinement, Rolfing rightly enjoys the reputation as the premier system of structural integration, postural realignment, body-centered stress management and trauma resolution. Rolfing is, of course, much more than posture: alleviating the pain resulting from chronic tension, injuries, and movement habits, and providing freedom of movement for most physical activities and fitness, including static posture for computer or office work.  For detailed description of the process visit https://www.rolf.org/rolfing.php

If you want to experience the emotional freedom which accompanies a more flexible and comfortable body,  Rolfing is a therapy that really can make a difference in your overall health, feelings of well-being and comfort in your body. If you feel disappointed by other therapies you’ve explored, or you have thought for some time about experiencing Rolfing, please contact me to discuss your situation. I will give you an honest appraisal of whether my work will be of assistance to you.

CHOOSING A ROLFER

There is considerable variation in how each Rolfer works and how each client processes the benefits.  Whether the 10 series or shorter focused “fix-it” therapeutic work, the process is a very personal experience.  Trust and compatibility are essential, and I recommend contacting several Rolfers to find someone that you feel comfortable working with.
